And so another year of the Health Claims Unpacked project comes to an end! But while we say goodbye to 2020, we are preparing for our third year in 2021.
Our proposal for next year is focused very much around the taking what we have created and turning it into something that food manufacturers and regulators can use to make data-driven decisions about the wording and presentation of health claims on food packaging. Our Business Hub prototype will be developed into a full working module to allow business representative to subscribe and access data fuelled by the consumer-facing toolkit.
We will also be developing a Business Plan for the marketization of the Business Hub. This will ensure that the digital platform is financially sustainable following the project’s conclusion, so that we can continue to update it and make it something that will give consumers a voice in the regulation of their food shopping experience for many years to come.
Finally, we are excited to announce that we will be adapting the consumer-facing platform into two new languages: Romanian and Hungarian. We were delighted to work with colleagues in France, Germany and Poland in expanding our reach this year, and we are very excited to continue that expansion into these two important markets.
Most of us will be glad to see the back of 2020, but we are very proud of what we have achieved this year, and look forward to continuing our work in 2021. Until then, we would like to wish everyone a safe and relaxing holiday season, and a happy and prosperous new year!
